报告摘要：Diabetes mellitus has become an epidemic disease in view of human's life styles. About 11% of both Chinese people and American people suffer diabetes. There is a pressing need to study how the disease is developed, how to detect its onset and how to provide effective treatments for diabetics. Dynamic models in the regulation of glucose and insulin can be traced back 1960's. In this talk, I will overview several mathematical models including intravenous glucose tolerance test (IVGTT), ultradian oscilations of insulin secretion, exogenous insulin deliveries and insulin distribution in pancreatic vein.
