课程概要：

Topic One: Qualitative Research

To explain the key issues that qualitative academic researchers should be aware；to explain how to set about qualitative academic research; to offer suggestions as to how to plan a qualitative research program; to undertake a simulation exercise in the interpretation of a qualitative data transcript; and to point out how to defend a qualitative research project.

Topic Two: Theory Developments

To explain what is meant by the body of theoretical knowledge; to explore the different ways of making an academic contribution; to define good practice in theory generation; to discuss how theory may be tested; to point out the limits of theory; and to suggest good practice in theory development.

Topic three: Get Published

To help individuals improve their publication rate and to assist those who have not yet started to publish to get going.

Topic Four: PhD Study

To discuss some critical issues in pursuing PhD study and to show how the PhD study can be better planned and organized.

教师简介：

Prof. Deng is a professor in Information Systems in RMIT. His research interests are in the areas of decision analysis, intelligent systems, digital business, knowledge management, and their applications in business. The multi-disciplinary nature of his research and the emphasis on both theoretical and applied research are exemplified by numerous refereed publications in top refereed international journals.

Prof. Deng is active in the international academic communities. He acted as the co-chair of some international conferences, and is currently a referee for many prestigious international journals.
