讲座内容: 摘要:Poisson-Nernst-Planck System is a basic macroscopic model for electrodiffusion of charges for ionic flow through ion channels. The mathematical model we takeIn this talk is a one-dimensional version Poisson-Nernst-Planck system including the hard-sphere (HS) potential of the excess (beyond the ideal) electrochemical potential. We study the I-V (current-voltage)relation of ion channels; particularly, ion size effects on the I-V relation.Specifically, the existence result for small ion sizes is established by using the geometric theory for singularly perturbed systems.Treating the sizes as small parameters, wederive an approximation of the I-V (current-voltage) relation and identify two critical potential values which can be significant for experimental, computational, and analytical study of ionchannel functions.
