PhD Studentship at the University of Southern Denmark
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is recruiting one PhD student in Computer Science. SDU offers a 4-year PhD program. The applicants are expected to have Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science. Their English should be fluent enough to take courses and conduct researches at SDU. Before an applicant is admitted, he should obtain a minimum overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS academic test or a minimum score of 95 in TOEFL IBT test. Alternatively, we may accept diplomas of some certified advanced English training programs. The successful applicant will be granted a tuition waiver and a part-time student or research assistantship for the entire study period, whose salary will be roughly around 1,100 Euro per month on average. The applicant will also be recommended to apply for a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council.
SDU is a relatively small and young university with high research quality. It is located in a beautiful city, Odense, which is the birth place of the famous fairy-tale writer, Hans Christian Andersen. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at SDU provides an international research environment and has collaborations with various top international research institutes. The department is internationally well recognized for its research in algorithms, database systems and combinatorial optimization. The successful applicants are expected to work in the area of cloud computing, database systems and Big Data.
